Our evaluation process focuses on the long-term development of every investment we make. We spend significant time with the management of each company before we invest in order to identify the challenges and strategic opportunities unique to each business. This emphasis on pre-investment work allows us not only to better understand what each company does and why, but how we can help the company realize its goals once the investment is completed.
BOC’s Investment Committee is based in Prague, reducing the lead time necessary to make investment decisions. The merits of each investment are debated thoroughly by the committee, using third party experts to validate or discredit assumptions, highlight opportunities and raise potential challenges. Strategic validation is backed by careful financial modeling and rigorous stress testing in order to demonstrate a company’s ability to thrive in all economic environments.
